'TILAK' - Importance in Hinduism

In Sanskrit,'Tilak' means to mark. It is a very important ritual in Hindus. They believe it is the symbol of strength, energy & vitality . 'Tilak' is applied on the forehead between the two eyebrows and also used above on the throat or fauces. Hindus believe that between the eye brows "Ajna Chakra" is there which is considered to be a spiritual zone. So when someone put a tilak from "Ajna Chakra" to upward, it means his mind getting concentrate and calm down.

While applying 'Tilak' we move our hands over the head, in which positive energy is on our "Sirsha Chakra" and for that we can get more positive energy & ideology in our mind

'Tilak' is found generally different types, shapes which represent meaning & ideology in Hinduism
